I put an AVP longblock into my '81 Westy about 5 years ago. It has been excellent, with no problems at all, even on a trip to Key West (from Arizona) where we drove straight through both ways. I know several other people who have had similar good results. AVP engines seldom drop valve seats because of the method they use to install oversize ones, and that was one of the reasons I went with them. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
