Hello, I'm replacing the propane tank and regulator on my '87 Vanagon Westfalia. The replacement regulator shipped to me is the Marshall 290. I've read on this list that this is the official replacement from Marshall, and people recomend using it. It is about 1.5 inches longer than the old regulator. The copper pipes don't have much play, and I fear bending them that much. The 290's vent points forward, so is at great risk for clogging. The old tank has a black plastic box rivetted to the skid plate to protect the regulator, but the new does not. I don't know if the Marshall would fit inside the box even if I went through the labor of drilling out the box to remove it from the old tank. Maybe I should use the old skid plate? How do people typically resolve these problems? Thanks! -- ==Leonard Sitongia sitongia@onebeam.net One Inextricable Beam http://www.onebeam.net/ |
