It will work...if your flue vent is assembled properly and you have the cap on the drain line inside, the fridge won't blow out even on the freeway. I've done it because my 12V system needs all the help it can get right now. I don't think you'll notice much difference in gas milage.

It could be more dangerous if you got in a wreck, I suppose. In some places it may be illegal. And of course you should put out the flame when you stop for gas.
