Ok, hold on (looking for shorts)... my shorts are by Nike, and the material is called DRI-FIT. Some of my shirts are also by Nike and the material is called Dri-Fit as well. I have several other brands of shorts and shirts, all of them from moisture-wicking material. It's basically a special weave of synthetic fibers which transport water away from your skin and allow air to get to your skin. The benefits are not only quick-drying, but they also keep you cooler on hot days. You can go to Sports-Authority or any of the outdoor-oriented stores and ask for "performance apparel" or "moisture-wicking" clothes. I think Wally-World is also starting to carry a cheeper variation of the same.
