I'll join ya in recommending air.

This thread is pretty much personal preference responses. My preference is air cooled due to upgrading from a bus to a Vanagon; I wanted the room and design of the Vanagon, but to maintain the simplicity of air cooled. A well maintained air cooled Vanagon, along with a 50-caliber box of tools, and a few select replacement parts makes for a most dependable vehicle. Even at 21 years of age. Not saying you cant get the same with water cooled, just that i personally prefer not to have the complex cooling system as a potential point of failure and expense.

Its all personal preference.
