All this does is to allow the adhesive joint to fail with some Velcro stuck to one side of it. Johnny, my man, if you're lucky enough to have a van with a metal dash, probably up to an '85, use some Devcon Plastic Welder or Devcon MVP 33 to adhere a magnet to the base of your hula babe. The two things which I dearly miss about my '84 Sunroof are, of course, the roof and the metal dash.
