Well I ain't no expert on diesel Westy's, but I put in my fair share of time
under an 82 Scirrocco.
That transmission goes the wrong way (crossways transverse mounted engine).
And the Jetta uses the same setup. Are you thinking about some sort of
Dasher Transmission?
