How many miles on your engine? One of the causes of low oil presure is wear in the engine. The bearing surfaces that the oil lubricates get bigger as they wear, and this results in lower oil pressures. If your engine has 150,000 miles on it (or thereabouts), low pressure could well mean that it is wearing out.

The 2.1L engine has a nasty habit of throwing a rod (and in the process converting a rebuildable core into scrap metal) as the lower end bearings wear out. You might do well to start thinking about getting the engine rebuilt.
