Subject: Sliding door transplant.
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

My 85 wolfsburg weekender burned, and I'm transplanting select parts to my 82 full westy diesel w jetta transplant. The slider has a different latching system. The question is.... has anybody done this, It looks possible with a welding of the rear latch plate, cut fron the 85. The front of the door also is different and it looks that it can also be altered. Any feed back will be greatly appriciated. You can reply off list if you want. Thanks Bruce Tubbs 82 westy mit jetta 85 weekender :( parts will be available later. I think the engine is OK, wires and plastic trashed, H20 pump, etc bad.... new heads last fall, New exhaust, good auto tranny, + other things. I can send .jpeg pix if you want.....
