I haven't, but I recall reading a page written by a guy who had done a propane conversion who carried a barbecue type cylinder as an emergency jerry can of sorts. His technique was to connect the barbecue cylinder to the fill port of the car's tank (via a custom hose), then invert the cylinder and open the valve. Liquid propane would be forced into the car's tank until the pressures equalized, and because of the size difference that meant the small cylinder would mostly empty.

I'm not sure if that'd work with the new tanks that have OPD floats, though. I suspect not.
