I mounted my Yaesu FT100, an amateur 100W transceiver about the size of a large mobile CB, using 3M velcro, just to the right of the steering wheel centerline. I did it in such a manner that the mic cable loop hangs just to the left and right of the tach on my 85 Wolfsburg. I also used the same method to mount my GPS to the left of the radio. The hard plastic in that area should be easy to remove the adhesive from if you would ever need to do so. Clean it with isopropyl alcohol first and it will stick just fine. If your state has issues with devices mounted on top of the dash causing "visibility problems" this may not be a good place to mount it. I've driven over 500K miles with radios mounted in this position througn most states east of the Mississippi, and never been challenged. Your mileage may vary. :) If a picture is desired by anyone, I'll get one up as an link on my website. tom On 20 Jul 2003 at 10:00, Woodrose Dawn wrote: > Hi all, > I would like to mount my CB in my 85 GL and am not > sure where would be a good place to do so.
