Odd experience: when visiting Washington Island off the tip of Wisconsin's Door County peninsula this spring, we were surprised to find that virtually *everyone* waved at us in our Westy! "These folks sure like VW's!" we thought, until we realized that all the residents of this somewhat insular island community wave to one another, regardless of your vehicle. As a visitor, you get about three chances to wave back, and after that you're silently blacklisted as a tourist and no one waves. You're on probation until you wave first about ten times, then you're allowed back into their good graces. Alas, when in Rome ... Jeff
