Yup, from memory maybe half an inch or so deep and a quarter inch thick, full length and breadth of the pan. It's an 85. I haven't the slightest idea if this is normal, this being my first westy. So far.

I'd _love_ to see the specific heat of each oil type listed on the oil container. It would be a boon to all who understand thermo. Bet the synthetics vary based on base stock type. I read the Mobil 1 is not too great but Torca and Red Line are OK. That was a somewhat informal test of several oils by a Mini Cooper racer. Again, as I stated in my original message "I HAVE NOT VERIFIED THIS". If it isn't in a formal test document, done with instruments appropriate for the job, it isn't real as far as I'm concerned, it is hearsay.
