Both my teenage kids are allowed to drive any of our cars (5 VWs). My 17 Y.O. daughter is a somewhat conservative driver, but I feel with time and patience I can work that out of her. ;->

My 15 Y.O. son has more of the usual tendency to be a hot foot. That being said, he has pretty much earned his right to drive these beasts. With a little help from me, he's rebuilt a '70 Beetle, and does major work on my Syncro Westy! It's like I sorta help him with that too!. Same with the Scirocco, the Wolfsburg Vanagon, and neither of us has done much to the '02 Passat Wagon. It had better not need much for a while, either. Nevermind the defective coil packs, replaced free without a hassle by the local stealership!

My daughter helped restore her own 51 split VW and knew how to drive it at 13. An early apprecation and respect for the hard work to drive a classic is what makes her trust worthy to drive anything I own, even my 1946 knucklehead. She was only given love and values the rest then become easy. Lucky Dad
