Yes, there are only 2 types of radiator. One for 82 diesels and a different one for everything else including 83 diesels, 1.9 gas, and 2.1 gas. You will need the later metal fan housing also as the 82 plastic one won't fit on the 83+ radiator. The metal fan housing comes sized for one of 2 sizes of fan motors. You need the smaller one so you can reuse your small fan/motor from the 82.
