I can recommend the KYBs, but retain your VW rubber bushings and metal cups for the fronts. The KYB supplied parts are too thin and will bottom out causing rattles.

Based on their short life span in my Jetta, I'd have to say they aren't worth the trouble of installing them. (this was the Cofap oil shocks, front and rear, not gas). I put KYB in my '88 Westy about 5 years ago - they were about 50% more than Cofap if I recall, but I suspect the Cofap would have failed by now under the torture of many very rough roads. One problem with the KYB is the front shock is not the same as the rear (GR-2 vs GasAdjust I think), and I think the front could be stiffer. The rear seems about right though. Perhaps Koni or Bilstein in the front would be a better choice, but they are far more money. -- Shawn Wright http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright ~This message sent by Pegasus Mail, the safe E-Mail alternative~ "Friends don't let friends use Outlook"
