I would consider having the wheel on the wrong side dangerous. If you want to overtake a truck or another van, you CANNOT SEE what is coming the other way until you have puuled out into the wrong lane BANG. Same when pulling out from a papallel-parking curbside meter spot... you can't see what's coming up behind you. I had a Corvair-"powered" LHD 69 Bay for a while, and always felt most uncomfortable driving it (no, I didn't feel uncomfortable driving LHD Corollas in Newfoundland or Florida... incidentally, I spent 4 months in the former & over a week around Tampa-Fort Myers and didn't see A SINGLE vanagon during the entire time).

But it should be a relatively easy conversion to LHD... may be a bolt-in job if the RHD mounting points are already present and steering-column/pedal apertures are prepunched and blanked off. The one with a BenT for 16" Syncros would probably scavenge the RHD bits from you... (jeez, Ben, you must be REALLY short if you can fit into such a small vehicle). -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin, New Zealand 64 (3) 473-8863 <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Fossil preparator Seashell, Macintosh & VW/Toyota van nut
