Larry,

Have you considered suspending them in the ceiling? I have a Westy, and have always suspended the boards from the pop-top cross beams in front and the rear overhead storage cabinet in back. Safe and secure. In a Wolfy, of course, you would have to fabricate such a capability, and yes, risk potentially dinging the interior.

SO, the alternative is the roof racks. I'll bet one of the new improved versions of the old Aloha racks will work. Here's an example: http://www.shorelinesurf.com/surf_access2.htm#snubber

And, Yakima and Thule systems are viewable here: http://www.orsracksdirect.com/yakima-sailboard-surfboard-racks.html

Hello all,

Any surf-riding vanagon owners out there? I'm looking for info on where I could find a surf rack that will fit atop the vanagon if such a beast exists, my interior is in good condition and I would like to keep it that way (ie. no packing salty boards on the floor between the seats and dinging the head liner trying to get said boards in and out of the van).

Thanks, Larry Cortright 87 Vanagon GL Wolfsburg
