One of those guys would be me. I've run two different M&S rated 27x8.5R14 tires on stock Vanagon 5.5" wide rims, with no problems. BFG Radial All-Terrain T/ A's, (not ko) and now Multi-Mile Wild Country Radial XRT's. According to the DOT code on the tire, these things are manufactured by Kelley Springfield.
