Our new Vanagon ('84 Wolfsburg passenger model) came complete with a drooping driver's sunvisor. Since I'm 6'4" this was not going to fly (my spouse, on the other hand, didn't even notice it). I pulled it off and found that the visor just slipped off of the mounting. I didn't even have to pull too hard. As luck would have it I had a hunk of heat shrink tubing that was a nice fit over the "dowel" on the bracket that goes into the visor. I cut off a hunk and shrunk it in place and put the, now tightly fitting, visor back on. About 10 minutes, including waiting for inspiration and finding the heat shrink. It's been two weeks now and the visor stays up for me, and goes up and down for my spouse. Life is good. Doug |
