Tom, at those temperatures you will never get a leak down.

I lived in Alaska for 30 years - part of the time with an '85 GL Vanagon. Never had lifter leakdown in winter. Only in summer. Engine would cool down to quickly for the lifter leakdown to occur I would guess.
