It is either leaking past a shaft seal or else past the pan gasket. In either case, replace the bad seal/gasket. If it is leaking past the shaft seal it is contaminating the final drive, so change that oil as well. Fixing leaks is always a matter of finding which seal or gasket has failed and replacing it.

Now, if the pan is damaged, you may need to repair or replace it.

While you are doing the tranny anyway, replace the filter.

I would be more specific, but your post did not mention where it was leaking. If that was because you don't know, get under there and find out.

If you have to lift the vehicle to get under it, use ramps or jackstands and properly block the wheels still on the ground. Do not get under a vehicle supported by concrete blocks or other jury-rigged methods. After all, you don't want your friends reading about you in the Darwin awards.
