Hey Ken, thanks for the info. Ron at the Bus Depot has resolved the matter quickly and efficiently as always! Turns out after closer inspection the cap is slightly warped which is probably what caused it to fail. I should have a new one in a few days (thanks Ron!)

As a customer service manager I know that good service can make or break a company and the Bus Depot proves yet again that they know how to run a business! So a big ol' ATTABOY to those guys and girls in PA!

Usually the reason why the cap fails is because the inspector guys don't know how to screw it into the tester. Go back but take the receipt of your new cap from the Bus Depot and fill out the paperwork that this is a new replacement cap you bought to fix the previous problem. They will try to put the new cap into the test machine, not be able to do it, but pass you anyway because you have documentation that you bought a new cap. They have done this to me several times so I know what I am talking about. Now I just stand down there and watch them struggle for a while then show them how to put the cap in the machine correctly and it passes.

Ok, Beatrix passed inspection for everything except for the gas tank cap... which I just bought from an unnamed list vendor... Can anyone recommend a good tank cap that will pass NJ inspection. I paid $15 for this one, hoping it wouldn't be a problem since my last bus failed for the same reason and I had to replace it... I'm sure the vendor will allow me to exchange it for another one, or at least credit, but it sure is a PITA to have to send it back and wait for a new one. I hate driving around with a big red sticker on my windshield.

On a good note, my emission results are around 1/10th of what the allowable amounts are! Granted it's a CA emissions system, but I didn't think it would do THAT well!
