Subject: Vgon syndrome harness made it run like crap?
Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII

I bought a made by VW wiring harness that goes inbetween the AFM and the connector that connects to the wiring harness. Before I put it in, the van was running great. I put in the wiring harness, started her up and it ran like crap. I can rev it up and then it just cuts out and dies, revs up cuts out and dies, etc. I took the harness off and it ran crappy for a few more minutes then started to run normal again. Is there some sort of adjustment that needs to be made when installing the Vanagon syndrome harness? Will the harness make things worse if the van is not already exhibiting symptoms of vanagon syndrom? I was attempting to install the harness as preventive maintence in preparation for a cross country trip.

Thanks very much for any help, Andrew Fox 86 Westy 2.1 L Auto
