Subject: Best CAR ALARM for Vanagon?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Today I called Bulldog car alarms(JCWhitey alarms) and they said that if my van has manual transmission then its illegal to install a van with a remote starter(reason: if van is in gear and you hit the "start" button on remote....then the van could make a mad dash out of the parking space with nobody at the steering wheel)....problem is, they ALL have remote starters!!

So, does anyone know of simple alarm without all the bells and whistles?(no keyless entry, no remote starter, no...remote doorlocks) It WOULD be nice to have an alarm with just a "starter kill" and maybe a "fuel pump kill"....otherwise im back to finding a kill switch(the hidden kind) for my starter/fuel pump/battery. Im looking into this one for $69 from JC Whitey:http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jhtml?CATID=81725&BQ=jcw2

Thanks!@

Phil 84' Westy
