        Actually...the HP was 140 according to VW...causing a lot of
        hand-wringing and tooth-gnashing by potential customers who
        wanted something more macho. VW finally met the need for better
        bragging numbers for the bench racers among the soccer moms and
        dads upping the HP rating to 201 in 2001.
