Actually, I get out quite often and I did read the other posts. If you check a map of NYC you will notice that 495 does NOT encircle NYC. It starts at the Midtown tunnel (western terminus) and proceeds east for approx 68 miles where it ends in Riverhead. There is no road such as the Capitol Beltway around NYC.

You've got to get out more! Or just read some of the previous posts...

I-495 is the outer ring road around Boston, and NYC, and I-495 is also the Capitol Beltway (around Washington DC).
