4. They go on Nov 1 and come off Apr 1.  Else one spends time in snow
drifts. (BTDT) I'm told that Nokian's are good.  Me? I run whatever Les
Schwab has on sale.

Carry a set of cable chains. There are times when studs just aren't
enough. Cables go on in five minutes and come off just as fast.  DO NOT
exceed 35 mph wearing them. Carry a tow strap as well.  Additionally,
toss some granola bars in the glove box, carry blankets and coats at all
times. (My buses (3 of 'em) each have their own set of sleeping bags.)
