Subject: no power at slow speeds

New owner 86 2.1 syncro. I can't even drive it, I can rev it and then it dies out as soon as I put it into gear, I mean zero power. I did follow this van on the thruway so I know it's capable of power (I also drove it for a few summers, always did idle rough though) once it gets up to speed but around town forget it a total nightmare. Any suggestions?

Andy
