I had new upper control arm bushings put on my 85 two years ago because they squeaked when it was below 20F outside.

A few months after I had them put on they started to squeak really bad all the time. They appear to be genuine vw, i.e vw number scheme on them.

I did not like the shop I used so I never went back to them to complain. I am still hoping it goes away as they age.....

I have thought about getting some used bushings from a wrecking yard....

It drives and handles much better, but now I have this terrible rubbery squeek/groan that comes from the upper control arm bushings. It's REALLY obnoxious, and both sides do it when there's any front suspension activity. I tried squirting a bit of silicone lube on the bushings, but no change....

Has anyone else had this problem? What to do? Is there something inferior about some brands of bushings? I got 'em from one of our FOLV. (Friendly On Line Vendor) Did I do something wrong during assembly?

Does anyone have any good suggestions besides pressing them out and starting over again with a new set?

It's driving me absolutely CRAaAZzyyY !!

Thanks for any good advice before I tear my hair out... Steve
