Though I haven't done any calculations, I will say that there are a number of us here in Texas who mount a 5,000 BTU 110 volt unit in the drivers window with very good success. Daytime temps are frequently in the mid 90's with humidity exceeding 90% and the vans are comfortable. We've taken them to Busses nowhere near the arch and actually had condensation on the windows in the mornings. We are all quite happy with our window mounts and the comfort levels inside.
