I prefaced my comment that way, but I *have* used them in the past, and liked them. I had a job for a while in a place that used them exclusively. I just don't like them enough more than a PC to justify the price difference.

I think he's referring to AppleSoft BASIC, which I think was a Microsoft product. Calling it an "operating system" is a bit of a stretch, maybe; it was only a complete operating system when combined with DOS or ProDOS. It was also extremely buggy, thus setting a trend for future Microsoft products. ;)
