Has anyone done this? I can't find the part listed anywhere...

I just returned from a 4 day hike, feeling great, until I fired up our '88 Westy and found the bucking syndrome is getting worse. Now the larger lurches will cause the tach to drop, making me suspect the ECU thinks the engine is not turning, ie: perhaps hall sender not triggering? This is next on my list of things to check. The test seems simple enough in Bentley, but I'm worried that it will pass, since it is still somewhat intermittent. Is there any maintenace or cleaning needed for the hall sender parts?
