Mr.Tim, Funny thing you mention this Bosch reman. This is the alternator that failed in my Machine. My thought is any rebuilt or reman, or even new can fail. It is only as good as the man building it. And seeing he too is human, nothing is truely perfect, all the time. So a genuine Bosch perfect reman can fail too. Mine did. No BS all of the time. Good Evening, Fred
E-mail message Well that's just BS. A genuine Bosch Reman alternator gets the stator fully rebuilt, windings desoldered and resoldered, the slip rings turned if not worn beyond spec or replaced with new, dymamically balanced, new bearings and brushes and brush springs, new diode set, new voltage regulator, new pulley nut and washer, in other words, not rebuilt but REMANUFACTURED to NEW SPECS throughout. And, if they are low on cores, you many times get a NewMan unit, which is a brand new alternator for the remanufactured price. And that goes as well for their ReMan starters, fully REMANUFACTURED, not just "rebuilt" like NAPA and virtually all others. Bosch is the no compromise solution to lowest cost per mile. All others are just wannabees. Indeed, in this case you do get what you pay for. At 09:01 AM 07/28/2003, you wrote: I see this and call NAPA too. This is what is replaced in this alternator. bushings, diodes, brushes . The windings are inspected and tested. Is not just cleaned and replated. Three year warrantee is good for me. A Bosch rebuilt is done same way. For almost twice the price. So what is differrent? Nothing. |
