To plug or bypass with rear heater out:
I pulled the rear heater in my '90 Westy several months ago and plugged
the hoses.  No problems at all, and just gave it probably the most
severe test with a climb to 6300+ feet on a slow, narrow, twisty road,
most in first gear (automatic) and the cooling system worked as usual.
