Subject: '86 westy: 2 random questions from a new list member
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

hi all,

just joined this list after purchasing (and moving into) an '86 westy. out of the million questions i presently have, i'll pick a couple first ones for the list:

1-i want to wash the covers on the beds because if as much sketchy stuff has gone down in that van in the first 17 years of its life as has in the 2 months i've owned her, i probably shouldn't be sleeping on them every night. it appears that the cusions have zippers indicating that the fabric covering could be removed... can it just be washed on "delicate" and replaced? or does it need dry cleaning or some special removal process? does anyon

e sell fitted sheets to fit those beds?

2-what creative places have people come up with to mount subwoofers? that space under the rear facing seat behind the driver's seat seems very tempting but i don't want to have to rebuild that seat entirely. has anyone ever fit a "truck box" into the wedge shaped space between that seat and the driver's seat? at first appearance it seems like there might be enough volume in there for a 10" driver in a sealed enclosure, assuming it were custom built to utilize all the space... somebody out there must have done some experimenting to see where the most acoustically superior location is for filling the entire vehicle with bass; anyone have an idea of what the best spots are?

thanks!

Ben
