Subject: ADDCO Rear Swaybar
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

Just ordered an Addco rear swaybar for my 1980 Westy from Swaybars.Com (a very positive experience btw). Before purchasing I searched the archives for any info but only found the rear sway bar to be on folk's "wish lists"! Anyone have some real life experience with the Addco aftermarket rear anti sway bar? I'm sure it can't hurt the handling and may improve the crosswind drifting a bit but any comments or tips would be appreciated. The retailer told me I'll have to drill a couple of holes for the install and as I got the urethane bushings rather than the rubber ones (we very rarely have severely cold temperatures in my area) I was also advised to lube them thoroughly with silicon based lubricant when installing to prevent any "squeeking".

P.S. If anyone knows the answer to this question I posted earlier this week or can point me to the answer it would be appreciated ... In a 1980 "Canadian" Westy can someone please tell me how to activate the Battery & Water Level Indicator Panel to the right of the stove burner knobs. All fuses are good btw. Also, which battery is being check by this panel, the engine or the coach battery? I couldn't find this info in Bentley, my owner's manuals or get it to work by having another cup of coffee, cupping my hands around it to block out ambient light, going into the house and then forgetting why, calling a friend and talking of things unrelated to VWs, rocking the van, turning on the ignition, starting the van, calling the indicator panel "stupid" or by poking at it with a pointed stick.

peace
