A friend of mine runs an Internet VW Parts place and sells a LOT of these to the 93-99 Golf & Jetta owners. I had one in my GTI before I sold it and it was pretty cool...

This same kind of intermittent wiper relay has been available as an upgrade for Audis from the same era. I wonder if we could use it and how the other part numbers described on the web site below compare to the VW units mentioned earlier. Maybe this relay is still available.
