I had my 18 yr old alternator rebuilt at a local place in Sarasota a little
while ago.  It performs well, and doesn't vibrate, but you have to rev to 1500
rpm before the thing starts charging.  The original didn't do that, it started
immediately.

What the heck is that all about?
