Been there on July 4 weekend. While camping at Lundy Canyon drove on 395 thru Bridgeport over Sonora Pass and turned around Dardannell's camp. Agree that it is awesome road. Specialy coming up to the pass thru what looks like a tunnel cut in solid granite. There sure is a lot of granite there and some volcanic basalt columns. Stll lots of snow then. Great falls and views. Scenery worth driving there. Nice places to camp along Stanislaus river. Not many people there. Would like to camp there too. Some nice wild hot springs around Bridgeport to soak in. Hope you had your AC running thru DV.
