OK... just talked to the mechanic again... he put the square filter in front of the pump, but says there's no metal filter on there at all... and he cant find any brackets for the metal filter... He also said that my emissions sticker says Federal... so I may not have a CA bus after all... I know the van was originally purchased in TX, moved to CA about a year later, where it lived for about 12-13 years and then was driven here to the east coast... This filter thing is bugging me... I really trust this mechanic, he's worked on tons of VW's (including lots of work on my 76) and he says he's never seen 2 filters on a vanagon. So... do I leave the square one in front of the fuel pump and not use the metal one? Do I have him put the metal one on after the fuel pump? or do I have him move the square one back to after the fuel pump? -- David /NJ 85 California? Wolfsburg Westy "Beatrix" |
