My Van that bought from Florida last month was the mechanics getting a tuneup and inspection, during the inspection process here in NY they tested it on some type of dyno system and once it hit 60mph the engine started to choke and lost power as if it went from 4 cylinders to 3! The mechanic said he checked the engine and nothing was wrong, he changed the air flow meter with a known working unit from an 88 vanagon, mine is an 89 carat. He checked the plugs and lines, no problems. He said the van otherwise is running like new. Any quick check list of things to check? Esepcially before I start getting crazy replacing things? What things would I replace? Anyone have any suggestions? Links to review? Thanks in advance, robert 89 Blue Orly Carat, Auto, 150K miles. |
