This vehicle is two blocks from my home. If someone is serious I could take a look. It is at a local repair joint last resort, kind of a Hotel California for beaters. Many vehicles sit for forever and twice a year or so the owner of the shop clears the place out, presumably sending them off to a junkyard. He drove a Vanagon for many years, so he has some familiarity with them. (He certainly is not a traditionalist, years ago he had a splittie Westfalia which had extensive front end damage, and he cut off the front and grafted in a clip from a breadloaf!) The double cab is behind a chain link fence, locked during non-business hours. Looking through the fence, its rough and ex-military of course. From the looks of it I'd say its current price, about $1500, is about right. As others have said, the listing itself is a little worrisome. I wondered about titling when I saw that it carried no plates- but he drive it for a year as it says in the ebay listing? No ebay history, and do not use email to contact him?
Feel free to forward this to the diesel yahoo groups.
