I have blue in the '85 Westy (with a 2.1) - no problems. I have orange
in the '88 GL, and it's always smelled like coolant. You can see
coolant encrustations at all the hose/engine connections, etc. I've
heard the orange has smaller molecules, and from my experience, that
seems to be the case.
BTW, my '84 has green, and I've never had a problem with it, either.

When I do a van for a customer, I alway s use Orange or blue........that
way
I can immediately tell if they were adding the correct coolant to the
car.
