Subject: Re: Fuel Filter question

OK, some people are telling me that the white plastic one was for the older bus, all vanagons use the metal one...

Told my mechanic this and he said he ordered the part by the year of my van and got the white plastic one... he also said that one side is bigger than the other and someone would have to do a lot of work to make this white one fit in if it's not stock...

any ideas? suggestions? should I tell him to go with the white plastic one? will that hurt anything? or should I tell him to fix everything so that it fits the metal one? he's already changed all the fuel lines in the engine cmpt...

thanks,
