   <<I found a Malibu Barbie on the beach after the Fourth of July weekend
in S. CA, so I glued it sitting on my bumper with it's arms extended, as if
balancing, as a kind of bowspirit.  It has it's bikini on.
   I've gotten many stange reactions from women who notice it:

Obscene gestures, yelling and anger (Santa Cruz)
Laughter, "Let's party (Garberville)
Many weird looks
Everything in between

   It's a kind of litmus test.  Is Barbie a powerful symbol to the women of
America?  What does she mean?  Is she the goddess I can never have, and the
angry women can never be?  Am I messing with powerful forces here I don't
understand?

It's much more simple than this . The angry woman is probably the owner of
the Barbie doll and she wants it back.

The others are probably trying to swindle it off you so they can add it to
their collections or sell it on e-bay.
If you get the right buyer that Barbie doll can probably mean a free tank of
gas.
