I popped the vinyl covered hatch cover off the inside of mine yesterday for
other reasons. I lubed the latch and noticed that there is a round hole in
the metal over the latching mechanism. Carefully cutting a hole in the cover
over the hole, putting a plug in the hole to cover it when not needed, and
using your finger or a small screw driver or pen to move the latch, would
easily open the hatch from the inside. Use a small-tipped, kinda pointy flat
blade standard screw driver to pry the plastic fasteners out of the metal
hatch. By the way, for the life of me can't remember who has that mod
published but there is one and one place is in the archives.
