I have done that

I am selling my transporter from Canada First time i phoned, Vw told me that they don't assist citizen in commercial transaction. Phone to Vw a second time and told i want to move in US They have checked with the VIN Number and told me they would'nt issue it anyway Because it did'nt have air bag which does not comply Have you ever heard of an 85 having airbag!!!? They told me to look into an RI (Registered Importer) See procedure in list at: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/ You have to find an RI who is willing to do the job. I personnally think that Vw is in the business of selling new car They are not much of any help...

Any other experience to help Tom and me are welcome!

VW does not like to issue "Letters of Conformance" for US Citzens that want to purchase a Canadian VW anymore. So he trickis to have the Canadian owner call VW and tell them that they are moving to the USA, and need the letter so they cantake the van with them.

Hello all,

I'm thinking of purchasing a camper from one of our fellow email list friends and it is located in Canada. Does anyone know what is involved in purchasing a car from Canada? All thoughts, comments and sugestions are very welcomed. Thank you!

Alec
