I just got back from a 4,200 mile trip to Newfoundland and have two pieces of advice. First pay a little extra and get AAA Plus which covers a 100-mile towing. The added peace of mind is worth it and it came in handy for me when I couldn't shift into 3rd or 4th gear. Second, make sure your gear linkages are greased sufficiently. Had my mechanic noticed this, I don't think I would have broken down. Other than that, enjoy the trip and don't worry. The Westy is happiest when on the open road.
