I'd suggest checking the "info" link at vanagon.com, then the "what do you keep in your bus" link. There are lots of suggestions there, stuff I'd not have considered and has almost always helped me.

This will be our first "big" trip in our westy. My question is, what should I do to prepare for this trip. I'll do the basic maintenance things, but is there anything I should know. And we're going from Detroit to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.
